Losing season

Year after year, Nick was confident that his beloved Phillies would make it to the World Series again.  Despite a string of terrible seasons, he still felt confident enough to wager his masculinity on the team winning the pennant.

Finally, Nick reached the inevitable conclusion reached by so many baseball fans: "The Phils suck."
