Philip's and Derek's bodies were shattered in the car crash. There was one medical procedure that could save them, and it was still highly experimental. Their consciousnesses were uploaded not android bodies. Sadly, there was only one model available: the Sexbot 4000. While both men are grateful to be alive, they are finding the programming of their new bodies to be something of a challenge.
